COURSE OBJECTIVES
- The Drone Design and Development course aims to impart knowledge related to aerospace design engineer roles, focusing on solid modeling, wireframes, sketches, basic surfaces, and building assemblies.
- The course provides hands-on experience using the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform for CATIA, SIMULIA, and DELMIA.
COURSE CONTENT
UNIT 1 : FUNDAMENTALS OF DRONE - 5
Drone - Classification – Application – Introduction to Airfoil –Theory – Aerodynamic Force (Lift, Drag, Weight and thrust) -Drone dynamics - 3 axis control Altitude, Roll and Pitch - Classification of Drone based on Weight & Shape – Application of Drone – Motor Layout
UNIT 2: SELCTION OF COMPONENTS - 10
Motor selection Characteristics - Weight –Torque -Thrust calculation – Propeller –Drone Avionics -Mechanical and electronic components (Flight controller, electronic speed controller, Receiver, Transmitter, power distribution board, GPS, Landing Gear, Camera) - Material selection (Carbon Fiber, polyimide aerogel, etc.) of Frame and Propeller
UNIT 3: DESIGN FUSELAGE - 10
Creating the Sketch Support - Creating Complex Profiles and Transforming Sketch Elements - Creating Extruded and Revolved Features - Creating Holes, Threads and Taps - Creating and Analyzing Drafts - Fillets and Chamfers - Shelling and Stiffening a Part and Creating Relations between Dimensions – calculating Center of gravity – Industrial Design of Drone
UNIT 4: ASSEMBLY - 10
Creating and modifying products - Inserting PLM objects and assigning properties - Reordering a product structure and unloading objects - Copying and pasting components - Positioning components and analyzing degrees of freedom - Engineering connections and fixing components - Replacing and revising parts - Drafting products - Assessment on assembly design fundamentals About Degrees of Freedom-Analyzing & Displaying Degrees of Freedom-Creating Interface-Based Connections-Engineering Connections-Fixing Components Together
UNIT 5: CAE/CFD ANALYSIS OF DRONE - 10
Drop test – MRF simulation - Aeroacoustics Simulation, thermal analysis, vibration and fatigue.
